The mantra "hands meet in front of each other" will be one of the routines It's evident that there is a growing optimism and the desire to connect face-to face. But Rotary has evolved. The Rotary network helps build bonds lasting. The pandemic served as an impetus for us to embrace technological advances. The way we conduct our business has been redesigned to maintain online meetings in our businesses, while reintroducing services and social activities in the face-to-face method. The new opportunities we have discovered are combining with our lessons about our past pandemics to bring a fresh and new perspective for Rotary. It's encouraging to know that 75 percent of Rotary clubs intend to keep their "business like usual" activities. This summer, many Rotary members were out with their families and friends, working on various initiatives, including beach and river clean-ups, litter removal and beach cleanups. The need for insurance and compliance is also important. Amazingly, our Rotarians have been able to develop innovative and inventive solutions to some of the most difficult problems. This is why I was so elated to be given the opportunity to be a part of Rotary in 2002. Like so many Rotary members, it has given me an extremely reliable community of fellow members from which genuine friendships have developed over these almost 20 years.
